Understanding the geologic and hydrogeologic setting of a site requires the collection of detailed subsurface information. This allows for the development of accurate conceptual models, remedial action plans, and environmental impact assessments. Completing a detailed site characterization also allows for the determination and extent of site contamination, estimation of aquifer properties (i.e. hydraulic conductivity and transmissivity), and hydraulic gradients.
