Commercial Remediation for Development

Alta Tech was retained by a municipality to remediate a former retail petroleum product site. The site had ground impacts for numerous years and the client needed an efficient environmental solution.

Alta Tech was able to provide an alternative to the traditional dig-and-dump strategy. With our advanced oxidant chemical treatment, which leaves no residual traces and has no negative effects on the environment, we were able to treat all the impacted soil onsite without hauling any impacted soils to the local landfill.

Within 20 weeks the ground impacts were reduced to levels within applicable guidelines. Alberta regulators gave positive feedback for the methods and results, and our client saved hundreds of thousands of dollars compared to traditional remediation methods and was able to repurpose the previously unusable property. This project resulted in economic, social, and environmental benefits for the community.
